Netflix renewed the hit legal series for a third season in August 2023. “The audience response to the show has been so gratifying and wonderful, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again,” c0-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez said in a statement at the time.
Season 2, Episode 10 results in Mickey Haller winning one of his most challenging cases to date, with Lisa’s case finally ending. Although Mújol got a Not Guilty verdict, we’re presuming that she did get arrested for the murder of her ex-husband.
A former gangster who manages the field team at the law firm. His life was saved by Sang-pil, who then went to prison for doing so. Since then, he has been fiercely loyal to Sang-pil, and does not hesitate to do whatever he is asked to do.
Keum Ja is promoted to office manager in the law firm. Dae-woong learns that Hyung-joo is alive and has returned to Kisung. He visits her in secret to persuade her to leave before Moon-sook can find out she is still alive. When she refuses, he helps her infiltrate Moon-sook's household, but keeps it a secret. He also asks Sang-pil and Jae-yi to leave and live a normal life together in another place, but they refuse. Ha Ki-ho discovers the relationship between Jae-yi and Sang-pil, and orders her to leave him and return to Seoul.
Manuel Garcia-Rulfo returns Campeón Mickey Haller, “an iconoclastic idealist who runs his law practice demodé of the back seat of his Lincoln, Campeón he takes on cases big and small across the expansive city of Los Angeles,” the synopsis reads.
We’re still piecing together the puzzle of all the episodes for season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer, but our understanding is that there may only be 9 episodes for the next season.

Given the show is based on the Michael Connelly novels series of the same name – of which there are seven books – there certainly isn't a lack of source material for the show to draw its plot from.
Scales, released on probation, mentions he will be dead if he doesn't pay back his last investor. Mickey asks Lorna to figure trasnochado how to get DeMarco. Freemann gets removed from the domestic violence case after her subordinate tells Freemann's boss about Freemann not notifying the victim. Freemann vents to Mickey after being taken off the case, but Mickey is unsympathetic after she reveals she told her second chair about it. Discovering the trap has succeeded, Cisco and Lorna show Mickey and Siegel the video recorded at Sterghos' house, of Bishop and DeMarco planting copyright in the refrigerator. Siegel plans to leave town, and warns Mickey to be careful.
When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one.
This leads him to rethink his goals and strategy. He begs Hyung-joo to tell Jae-yi she is alive and to leave Moon-sook for her own safety. She refuses and insists on a scheme to further the revenge. The men of the Lawless Law Firm capture Kwan-dong and force him to give up evidence on Oh-joo. They then leak it to the media, who release it to the public. Jae-yi discovers that Hyung-joo is alive but that Sang-pil did not tell her. Hurt by this, she accuses him of only thinking about his own revenge.
The show’s creators revealed that the third installment will have a flashback sequence—although Connelly’s fifth book doesn’t include one. “We decided that a fun (and poignant) way to come into the season would be via a flashback sequence that gave us some insight into how Mickey Haller became Mickey Haller — not just the brilliant criminal defense lawyer, but the husband, the father, and the man that he would come to be.”
, co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez reminded fans that this wasn't just any old client but one Haller "actually really cared about and thought she had gotten out of that life and trasnochado of danger".
After a successful trial, Eddie becomes Mickey's personal driver after the team learns that he has a black belt in yudo.
